Ear close to mouth
For the last 10 years I have been involved in a film project that explores the role and function of the seminar in the teaching of philosophy. Out of this, tensions between the oral and the written are studied in relation to the possibilities of collective learning and knowledge-making. In particular, the project is dealing with questions concerning inclusion, exclusion, and authority: Who gets to talk? How do we talk? What counts as relevant thoughts, experiences, and questions? At the heart of this we currently find ourselves in the project – as a filmic project – searching for ways of caring for simultaneous needs for, and refusals of, representation.
